Congratulations to you all for riding the river and enjoying the You may have noticed the plaque on the Rockfish Runner that honors Kathy Plyler and all Cancer Warriors everywhere. I missed the Batteau Festival last year as my wife Kathy was diagnosed with breast cancer in Feb of 2008. From then until June of 2009, she had chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation (daily for six weeks). During that [...] Wednesday Morning I shuttled to Warren’s Ferry. I paddled along with Doug Berry. He in his hybrid canoe/kayk and I in my old Mohawk red canoe. Wednesday Bud and I moved gear to Scotsville and then I came to Lynchburg in order to renew my passport on Thursday. It doesn’t seem right to have had a hot and clean shower and a nap in a king-size bed. But I miss the river folk so Ii will be back with you as soon as [...] Hello Batteau people. The Batteaux left Wingina this morning on the way to Howardsville. The water had dropped slightly from the night before while still having a good higher than normal level The current was good. Everyone was in good spirits this morning. A boy named Brandon was caught in a bad situation yesterday afternoon. He was a canoeist [...] The Sedalia Guys never miss a great [...] These guys are SO HAPPY to finally be done with this boat and on [...] One of the many reasons this is the BEST week of [...] I had the pleasure of canoeing and batteauxing with the Sedalia Endeavor, and everyone is having a wonderful time! Here is a shot of them coming through Higgenbotham [...] We christened the third Lord Chesterfield at Percival Island, and she held her own as we went from L’burg to Bent Creek on Saturday — 10 a.m. to 8:37 p.m. |
