I am so excited to see this. My husband Claude and I live next door (on weekends) to Roy and had no idea what was going on in that barn! We will be on the shore chearing for the Spirit of Buckingham. (PS) Sherry, would love to learn more about your herbs! All the best everyone. j

It has been years since I read or looked at the Batteau. We used to in the 1990's set up at Wingina our favorite place
on the river. This is when we were living for a while in Va my old home. We live in Alaska now I got our of the military years ago and married an Alaskian man. I am interesting in getting to know some of you now.I am sorry to hear of Dewy wood,I remember him a wonderful person. If any of you now were there in the "old days" we were the leather crafter's that had the pretty rose leather wallet, that everyone wanted and had only one made left to sell.lol I saw on here somewhere about James River and had date 9/12/09 not sure what it was all about. I try and keep up with the news of the James River State Park and would love to see the festival stop there again, of course no drinking on state lands. I like to know if anything stops are planned in the near future?? There are many exciting items of history going on all the time. I would like to get a hole of Mr Bill Trout if possible, I know the gentleman is getting up in age, as I am too. I had promised Bill years ago that I would provide copies to the Canel Society of the old papers from the end of the Canel period 1861 - 1880's have business records of movement on the river. Bill did an article years ago in Cancel book, forgot proper name. Let me here from some of you so I can get this done. "They are the Dixon Paper's" When any of your group starts or considers a plan on stopping at James River State Park site, I would like to make proesentation of copies to the Cancel Library. I told Bill years ago I wanted to see my family name on the list of canel stops and now that is possible. The landing is called Dixon landing, named by the State Parks Department. Thanks, it is good to see all the young faces and couples lives involved with this wonderful history item of our the wonderful state of Va.
